  • We are a dedicated group of local volunteers who are passionate about land conservation, community and recreation: Cam Pierel, Cathy Roberts, Al Crichton, Lorna Crichton, Buck OHerin, Bond Blake, Danielle Blake, and Martha Piscuskas.

  • Financing options are available to cover the remaining balance while we await grant awards and pursue further fundraising in 2023 and beyond.

  • No! Hikers and snowmobilers are welcomed on marked trails as usual. Winter sledding, summer berry-picking, nighttime stargazing, and seasonal hunting will all be allowed.

  • Yes! Friends of Haystack Mountain’s fiscal sponsor, Midcoast Conservancy, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization certified by the IRS.

  • Access to the Haystack Mountain hiking trail is via the Vena Robert's Ballfield parking area behind the Walker Health Center in Liberty: https://goo.gl/maps/6YFqUeP1s6tyXj1X8 The trailhead starts behind home plate! The entire hike takes about 1 hour.
